Its reputation also extends, of course, to the legendary Bermuda shorts still worn regularly for both business and leisure.
Discovered nearly 500 years ago by Spanish explorer Juan de Bermudez, the island's treacherous reefs claimed the ship Sea Venture, an event memorialized in Shakespeare's "The Tempest." Shipwreck survivors' tales of the island's beauty and balmy climate attracted more settlers to the island and, as the years went on, visitors to its sunny coasts.

Museums, forts and historical structures abound throughout the island as do attractions that showcase its natural attributes, including the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo, Botanical Gardens and Crystal Caves.

Take a carriage ride through the capital city of Hamilton, where you can also explore the popular shops, restaurants and taverns lodged in the colonial buildings along Front Street.
